Holiday in Croatia may be ultimate sailing adventure

Fans of sailing and other nautical activities may find all they are looking for on a holiday in Croatia.

The Croatian National Tourist Board says the facilities on offer in the country are enough "to fulfil anyone's dreams".

With 66 islands and 652 islets, as well as 389 rocks and 79 reefs available, there is plenty to navigate by boat and underwater.

Scuba diving or snorkelling could be popular among people who wish to get up close and personal with marine wildlife or simply enjoy the turquoise waters of the Adriatic Sea.

The tourist board also notes it is possible to hire a boat from many of the marinas that line the Dalmatian coast, which could be of interest to inexperienced sailors hoping to get out and explore.

Some of the premier resorts on the coast where boat hire may be common include Dubrovnik and Split, while some of the largest islands are Hvar and Brac.
