Holiday in Dubrovnik 'can be quiet and relaxing'
29 October 2010People looking to get away for a few relaxing days in the sun should probably consider a holiday in Dubrovnik, with one visitor stating he enjoyed a peaceful time in the city.
Peter Chapman, writing for Coolum and North Shore News, explained he recently took a cruise around the Mediterranean that included a stop in Croatia's premier resort.
Having travelled from the Turkish city of Istanbul, the author stated he was simply pleased to have peace and quiet upon arrival in Dubrovnik.
"After the mad scramble of Istanbul, five hours around the streets of this city which has a population of fewer than 50,000 was a nice change," he noted.
Mr Chapman also said Dubrovnik – often dubbed the Pearl of the Adriatic by tourist chiefs – was smaller than he expected.
The historic location's population in the 2001 census was recorded as being a little over 40,000.
