Holiday on Croatian island 'is one of world's best'

There are plenty of options when it comes to taking a holiday in Croatia, with various destinations within the country offering a top tourist experience.

The Croatian Times reports respondents to a poll by the publication Travel and Leisure have nominated the Adriatic landmass as the fifth-best island to spend time on in the world.

Among the numerous reasons for such a prestigious result for the island are the crystal-clear sea that surrounds it, beautiful olive groves and pine woods, as well as mile after mile of aromatic lavender fields.

Visitors to Hvar will also be perfectly placed to explore Croatia's fascinating mainland, with the city of Split just a short ferry ride away.
