Holidays in Croatia 'now about much more than just Dubrovnik'

While Dubrovnik arguably remains the jewel in the crown of the Croatian tourism industry, there are a number of other spots that are catching up with it.

That is the view of Tom Hall, travel editor at Lonely Planet, who says ten years ago "it was all about Dubrovnik".

But the emergence of other spots as attractive tourist destinations has meant that "now we are adding places like Zadar, Split, Rijeka and some of the islands to that as well", he says.

One reason for this is an increasing knowledge of Croatia and its surroundings, which has allowed people to venture towards more towns, cities and beaches.

A holiday in Croatia could be seen as the perfect choice for families or couples with different objectives, as it offers a wealth of history and culture while remaining a sun-seeker's paradise.

British tourists may wish to book accommodation with Croatian Villas today, while flights to Croatia can be secured with a host of airlines, such as easyJet and British Airways.
