Hvar offers visitors 'picturesque harbour'
28 May 2009Those who travel to stay in apartments in Croatia have been advised that Hvar Town on the island of Hvar has "one of the most picturesque harbours in the whole of the Mediterranean [region]".
At least that is the view of the Observer, which has named the town as one of the places where people taking a holiday to Croatia can feel like locals.
The newspaper revealed that, although there are many tourists on the island, there are ways to find the essence of the place.
Indeed, the publication suggested that staying in Croatian apartments offers holidaymakers the opportunity to see the real Hvar.
"Stay in an apartment and you get to see the other side: the early mornings before the tourists arrive (stroll down to Caffe Bar Gromit for coffee and pastries) and the quiet mid-afternoons when everyone is on the neighbouring beaches," the Observer said.
Anyone holidaying in Hvar may wish to check out other islands in Dalmatia such as Brac and Vis.
