Internet may be key to fantastic holiday in Croatia
27 January 2011Getting online and checking out flights and accommodation in Croatia may now be the key to securing a great deal for many travellers.
New research conducted by YouGov and Swiss-based web firm Memonic concludes two-thirds (67 per cent) of all British tourists now use websites to plan or book their trip.
This marks a major shift away from travel agents, who are now used by only 15 per cent of the holiday market.
Dorian Selz, chief executive officer at Memoic, says 74 per cent of Britons with access to the web are now spending at least two hours investigating their vacation.
And many of those could be looking for luxury Croatian villas, flights to the Dalmatian coast or simply information on what can be found in premier resorts such as Dubrovnik and Split.
One spot that may be worth looking up online is Samobor, which the Croatian National Tourism Board this week described as somewhere that "delights" visitors.
