John McEnroe set to entertain those on holiday in Dubrovnik
05 July 2010Tennis fans who witnessed Rafael Nadal's triumph at Wimbledon yesterday (July 4th) have the chance to enjoy more of the sport by booking a last-minute holiday in Croatia this week.
On Thursday, two former champions of the All England Club go head-to-head on the streets of Dubrovnik.
John McEnroe, the popular American who won at SW19 in 1981, 1983 and 1984, will play home favourite Goran Ivanisevic, the winner in 2001.
The match is being played to raise money for a revamp of Dubrovnik Hospital's children's department.
It could also provide a very attractive reason to visit Croatia this week, with two of the sport's most famous faces from different eras competing in a unique way.
Another special factor will be the tie's setting, which has been decided as in the heart of the old town of Dubrovnik.
Nadal beat Tomas Berdych in straight sets in the Wimbledon final, clinching his eighth grand slam title in the process.
