Last chance to travel to Croatia for traditional Christmas story nears
14 December 2010Tourists do not have a lot of time to play with should they wish to travel to Croatia for a romantic and educational telling of the Christmas story.
The town of Grabovnica hosts an annual event, which is due to get underway on December 19th and will run until January 6th.
At the heart of it is the Salaj family, which takes control of what the country's tourist board describes as a "special treat".
A traditional Christmas stable, heaps of winter lights and decorations hanging from every available object arguably make the town a seasonal wonderland.
But with only five days until kick off, those planning to travel to Croatia will have to finalise their accommodation and flights to the Balkan nation soon.
Other events set to be held in the country over the winter months – which could be of interest to holidaymakers – include the carnivals in Dubrovnik and Rijeka.
