01 October 2009The internet could be a good place to learn about the great restaurants in Dubrovnik, or the latest exhibitions in Zagreb.
According to Amelie Hurst, spokesperson for TripAdvisor, who has noted that many travellers now want to share their experiences online.
She said that review sites are fast becoming "the modern equivalent of returning from a holiday and calling up your friends to tell them all about it".
Ms Hurst added: "The wealth of reviews and opinions from other like-minded travellers helps them to select the right destination for them, not to mention accommodation, restaurants and more."
A report last month from Thomson and First Choice found that 80 per cent of people mostly trust reviews they read.
Before heading off on a Croatian villa holiday, taking a minute to learn about the areas you are considering heading to and seeing what others have to say could lead to your vacation being a much more enjoyable experience.
