Luka gets Tottenham through
19 December 2008Croatian football player Luka Modric scored a last-minute goal for Tottenham last night to take the team to the last 32 of the Uefa Cup.
The player hit the back of the net in the 67th minute to take his team to victory in the competition, bringing them to second place in Group D.
Harry Redknapp's side were trailing at half time against Moscow's Spartak, down 2 0, but teammate Tom Huddleston also scored in the second round adding to Modric's goal, which secured the draw which took the team through.
Modric's goal was his first for the London club and he has since complained of a tight hamstring and was not training today.
He joined Tottenham this year, having previously played for Inter Zapresic and Dinamo Zagreb.
Croatian player Eduardo has recently stated he would like to return to play for his home country.
The Brazilian-born striker has not played for Croatia for ten months but says he would like to play in the nation's friendly against Romania in February.
