Manager warns there is more to come from Croatian player
24 December 2008A premier league football manager says he is ready to build his team around a Croatian player who has plenty more to give this season.
Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp says Luka Modric is playing very well after the 23-year-old scored two goals in his last two appearances for his club.
Modric was bought from Croatian team Dinamo Zagreb for £16.5 million in the summer and Tottenham are paying in instalments over four years.
Redknapp said the striker is the type of person a manager would look to build their team around because if he can get him on the ball things can happen.
"I've spoken to (Croatia boss) Slaven Bilic many times about him. Slaven thinks he's world class and I think he has the ability to be world class," he added.
Modric recently scored a last-minute goal in a match for Tottenham to take the team to the last 32 of the Uefa Cup.
