Music festival set to entertain those on holiday in Croatia
25 August 2010Visitors to Croatia over the next ten days could enjoy a new music festival that is to be held in Split.
Starting tomorrow (August 26th), the Association of Young Academic Musicians (MAG) Festival is located at the city museum in the sunny resort on the Dalmatian coast, reports the Croatian Times.
Over six evenings between the opening night and September 5th, more than 20 musicians will come together to perform classic pieces composed by 30 of music's most renowned composers.
The tunes will range in style and will date from any time between the Baroque period to the modern day, the newspaper explains.
Josip Dragnic, initiator of MAG, tells the publication he is hopeful the city government will provide some recognition of the group's effort in staging the concerts.
Those who attend the event will be afforded access to the museum, as well as being able to listen to the work of the young musicians.
Split was in the news earlier this week when the same source reported ex-England football boss Sven Goran Eriksson was in the city to open a sports iniative.
