Musicians bid to represent Croatia in contest
15 December 2008Several stars who are well-known on the Croatian music scene are trying their luck to represent their country at next year's Eurovision Song Contest, it has been reported.
One of the famous acts bidding to be chosen is Goran Karan, who represented Croatia in 2000 and another is Fenimem who sang for Bosnia in 2005, esctoday.com says.
Many acts have submitted a song to HRT, the Croatian broadcaster, for their chance to compete in the contest in 2009.
The deadline for the entries was December 12th and Aleksander Kostadiniv, head of the Croatian delegation, was contacted by many artists and musicians.
Fourteen acts will compete in the semi-final in Opatija and the winner will be selected by a combination of a jury vote and telephone voting, the source says.
Popstar Beyonce will kick off her world tour next year in Croatia when she will perform in Zagreb on April 26th at the Arena venue in the city.
