Obama 'considering' Zagreb visit
04 February 2009US President Barack Obama is considering a visit to Zagreb in the coming months, reports have claimed.
The Croatian magazine Globus - citing unnamed sources - has suggested that the newly-elected leader could travel to the capital sometime at the start of April.
Entertainment portal Javno has speculated further, by stating that Mr Obama will look to visit either Croatia or Albania following the upcoming G20 summit meeting in London.
Writing for Javno, Joseph Stedul commented that any diplomatic visit from the US president would be a seen as a major victory in its bid to join the European Union.
If Mr Obama were to visit Zagreb, it would undoubtedly be a major draw for Europeans desperate to catch a glimpse of the recently-inaugurated leader.
Her Royal Highness Princess Anne is currently on tour in Croatia, where she recently met the nation's prime minister and other dignitaries in Zagreb.
