18 August 2008Filip Ude claimed gymnastic Olympic glory for his country at the weekend.
Mr Ude will travel to Croatia with a silver medal after finishing second in the men's pommel-horse event.
The Croatian was tied in second place with English competitor Louis Smith, but clinched the silver position thanks to a tiebreaker.
Both athletes ended the event with a score of 15.725, while winner Qin Xiao earned 15.875 points.
Elsewhere at the Games, the Croatian men's basketball team made it through to the quarter-final stage after a 91-57 win over Iran.
Marko Tomas and Marin Rozic were the top scorers of the match, each contributing 16 points.
The result left the squad third in the group phase, meaning they will face Spain in the quarter-final.
Meanwhile, the country's men's water polo team could still win a medal, despite a defeat at the hands of the US on Saturday.
A win later today over China would put the nation back in with a chance.
