Opera concert to be held in Zagreb
19 December 2008Jose Carreras and other opera singers will gather this evening in Croatia for a concert.
The world-famous singer will perform in the humanitarian concert in Petrovic Hall in Zagreb this evening, the Croatian Times reports.
He will be joined by the Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra and Drazen Siriscevic, Croatian national TV's opera director, who have all organised the concert.
Singers also performing include Agnes Baltza, Denyce Graves, Gruben Andrea and Inva Mula, with each person set to sing two or three arias of choice, the source reports.
The event will be sponsored by the Croatian and Zagreb city governments and will be broadcast on Croatia's national television channel.
Jose Carreras has recently said that since the death of Luciano Pavarotti he will not reform the Three Tenors, as a mark of respect for the singer.
The singer said: "There will never be another Three Tenors. Placido and I will never sing with another tenor it would not be respectful to the memory of Luciano."
