Organic festival may entice food fans to Croatia
02 December 2009Food lovers may want to book a last-minute Croatian holiday and head to the country next week, after an international food festival was confirmed to be taking place.
The Organic Food Tastings event is scheduled for next Wednesday (December 10th) in the northern city of Sisak - about 35 miles south-east of Zagreb, reports the Croatian Times.
It is Croatia's contribution to the Terra Madre Day which is run by the Slow Food Group - an association of lovers of organic and sustainable food - across the world.
Organiser Ivana Damjanovic told the newspaper that visitors to the festival would be offered the chance to taste a range of organic produce and enjoy presentations by food experts.
A Croatian villa in or around Zagreb could be the perfect place to stay in order to enjoy the food fair.
Last month a similar event, Culinary Days, was held in Opatija, at which 47 chefs ranging from amateurs to five-star professionals showed off their skills.
