Party is "guaranteed" for Croatia travellers on New Year's Eve
22 December 2009Travellers heading to Croatia over the new year period are "guaranteed a party" in the country on December 31st, according to Guide2Croatia.
A particular highlight could come in Dubrovnik - once voted the tenth best New Year's Eve hotspot in Europe - where local musicians will be taking to the city's main street, Stradun.
"Dubrovnik is a city of tradition and many traditional customs are performed in the city during the holidays," states the website.
The celebrations could be just as eventful in Zagreb, the capital, where singers Boris Novkovic and Dani Stipanicev will be putting on a show in the main square, Bana Jelacica.
Perhaps the most spectacular party will take place at Split's Riva - a famous plaza running down the side of the river.
More than 80,000 people are expected to descend on the area to enjoy the voice of Tony Cetinski and a set by the Ministry of Sound.
Adela Markovic, writing for the website last month, stated that Zagreb in particular carries "an air of magic" at Christmas time.
