Pensioners 'opting for accommodation in relaxing Croatia'
25 October 2010Older travellers searching for somewhere to get away from the hustle and bustle of life in Britain may wish to consider a stay in accommodation in Croatia.
The quietest and least-populated part of the country, Lika-Senj, has become a hit with ageing visitors, reports the Croatian Times.
Indeed, the county is attracting significant investment from property buyers, who are choosing to put their pension fund into a home in the country rather than the shares market.
Affordability is a key temptation to prospective purchasers, with real estate agents in the area noting land starts at just €1 (£) per square metre, the newspaper explains.
But those who do not wish to commit to buying a property in Lika-Senj could instead take a holiday in Croatia for a period of time in order to experience the country's relaxing nature and beautiful scenery.
Lika-Senj is located in central Croatia, just south of the popular Istria and Kvarner regions, which boast some of the nation's top resorts such as Pula and Zadar.
