Philharmonic orchestra set to play for travellers to Croatia
26 April 2010Tourists preparing to travel to Croatia this week could take in an orchestral performance that has been rescheduled for tomorrow (April 27th).
The Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra will stage a concert at the Klaic Children's Hospital as part of Zagreb's St Mark's Festival, the Croatian Times has explained.
Musicians were forced to abandon their plans to put on the gig earlier this month after the Icelandic volcano explosion that resulted in air travel across much of Europe being halted.
It is the second year of collaboration between the hospital and the orchestra, the newspaper reported Jutarnji List as stating.
Some classical music fans mulling over the idea of a Croatia holiday may wish to book a last-minute Croatian villa and head to the country now in order to take in the show.
Meanwhile, those already sunning themselves on the Adriatic coast could head inland to attend.
St Mark's Festival runs until May 8th in the Croatian capital, featuring a host of musical and cultural events.
