Pound goes further in Croatia, says report

The British pound goes further in Croatia than a number of other European destinations, according to a new investigation.

A report by the currency trading organisation First Rate found that the Adriatic country was in the top ten cheapest travel destinations - based on its low living costs and favourable exchange rate.

This has become all the more relevant in recent months, as cash-strapped Britons look to get more for their money while on holiday.

Gorden Gourlay, managing director of First Rate, commented that fluctuating exchange rates would lead many people to keep a close watch on the money markets in the lead up to their holiday.

According to the survey, Croatia was located between Kenya and Spain in terms of value for money while travelling.

Earlier this week, the picturesque island of Korcula was deemed 'the new Corfu' by a respected travel journalist writing for the Guardian.
