Property boom 'gathering pace' in Croatia
05 February 2009Croatia is heading for another property boom as European Union (EU) membership draws closer for the country.
That's according to one expert, who believes entry into the union would see property investors from all over the world head to the Adriatic nation en masse.
Director of the Property Abroad website, Les Calvert, identified Rogoznica and Novigrad as two of the destinations most-likely to see a surge in popularity.
Mr Calvert commented: "Croatia emerged onto the scene during the boom years, and became big news in 2004 - 2005, when EU accession was being discussed.
"It had always been expected that Croatian property prices would seen another growth spur upon, and possibly even in the run up to its EU accession."
From this month, foreign buyers will be able to purchase property in the country with the same rights as Croatian citizens - removing much of the previous regulatory burden.
