Provider of cheap flights to Croatia enjoys anniversary

Wizz Air, which offers flights to Croatia, is celebrating its sixth anniversary this week.

The budget carrier, with bases in a range of European countries such as Hungary, Bulgaria and Poland, made its first flight on 19th May 2004 from Katowice.

It has expanded to provide routes across the continent, including those to Croatia and other Balkan nations.

Wizz Air recently announced it was starting a new service between London Luton and Dubrovnik, giving tourists from the UK the chance to relax in accommodation in the Croatian city all through the year.

Fares for the new timetable between the Bedfordshire travel hub and the Dalmatian coast start at only £43.99 each way - making a Croatia holiday affordable to many people.

"Wizz Air has been implementing the ultra low cost business model which gives us the ability to continuously stimulate the market," explains Jozsef Varadi, chief executive officer at the airline.

Fellow budget carrier easyJet offers services to Dubrovnik from London Stansted, London Gatwick and Liverpool airports.
