Rafting 'is great fun on holiday in Croatia'

A holiday in Croatia does not have to be all about sun, sea and sand, as there are plenty of other activities to enjoy in the Balkan country.

The Croatian National Tourist Board recommends rafting as one such pursuit that the nation has the facilities to offer to a high standard.

It suggests people remember the names of several rivers - the Kupa, Dobra, Korana, Una, Mreznica, Cetina and Zrmanja - if they are to get the best rafting experience when in Croatia.

"The numerous organised rafting packages in Croatia include a guide and all the required equipment for each individual member of the team," the board states.

Many people who choose to follow the organisation's advice and go rafting may wish to retire to a luxury villa in Croatia at the end of their days on the river.

Speaking to Bloomberg last week, analyst at Splitska Banka Zdeslav Santic suggested more people are heading to Croatia this year as the country grows in popularity.
