Revellers could travel to Dubrovnik for new year party

Party goers looking for a celebration may wish to consider booking accommodation in Dubrovnik and heading to the ancient city for a celebration.

The resort's tourist board offers visitors a programme of events that will be taking place in the area from December 31st to January 2nd.

It suggests the festivities will kick off during the morning of New Year's Eve with a traditional carol session, brass band performance and bartenders' cocktail show.

That evening, a live concert, tombola and a series of shows will be among the highlights as Croatia welcomes 2011.

And on January 1st, those in the country can enjoy a display of the Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra's talents.

The celebrations continue into the second day of the new year, with Embassy 516 and Buco and Sigma among the acts set to entertain the crowds.

Those for whom the turn of the year has come too soon to book a break in Dubrovnik may be interested to learn the city is due to host its annual carnival in the coming weeks, which could provide a great opportunity to visit.
