Review sites could help find a 'hidden gem' hotel in Croatia
13 October 2009More businessmen could be choosing accommodation in Croatia based on online reviews and consumer surveys, new research reveals.
One in three business travellers now use sites such as TripAdvisor before booking a hotel abroad, stated research firm BDRC.
It is believed that the credit crunch has forced many people into making sure they get value for money when travelling overseas.
Amelie Hurst, a spokeswoman for TripAdvisor, said: "With many companies scrutinising their budgets more closely than ever, business travellers are increasingly turning to reviews sites to ensure they get the best value for money."
Following recent reports that Croatia is poised to join the European Union, some people may believe the number of business trips to the Baltic is set to rise.
According to BDRC almost half (46 per cent) of travellers are influenced by reviews when booking a hotel, with 23 per cent admitting they place total faith in the views of strangers online.
