Sailors could book accommodation in Croatia for boating event

People with a passion for the sea, including enthusiastic sailors, may wish to book accommodation in Croatia for a period in March to coincide with a popular event.

The seventh annual edition of the Olympic Sailing Week is to take place between March 16th and 20th in the Dalmatian coast resort of Split.

Some of the world's top competitors will be in attendance to show off their skills on the turquoise waves of the Adriatic Sea, which laps against the ancient city's coast.

The date of the regatta has been moved forward a little in order to accommodate four different class groups, ensuring sailors of all abilities should be able to take part.

As well as top-quality sailing action, tourists may also use the trip as an opportunity to enjoy the culture and history of Split, which is based around the fascinating building of Diocletian's Palace that dates back more than 1,500 years.
