Soccer star Eduardo to return for Croatia
10 February 2009Croatian soccer star Eduardo da Silva is set to return to action with his country in an international match-up tomorrow (February 11th) night.
Following a horrific injury last year, the Brazilian-born striker has been on the long road to recovery, but football fans across Europe may catch a glimpse of Eduardo when Croatia face Romania on Wednesday.
National team coach Slaven Bilic yesterday confirmed that the 25-year-old - who plies his trade in England with Arsenal - could feature.
He said: "I am assured that Eduardo is in great shape.
"It's clear to both [Arsenal club manager] Arsene Wenger and me that he can no longer make progress from practise only."
Eduardo has been out of action for almost a year after he broke his leg during a game against Birmingham City in February 2008.
Croatian sport received another boost this week after 20-year-old Marin Cilic beat his fellow countryman Mario Ancic in the final of the ATP Zagreb tennis tournament.
