Spring 'is ideal time to take a holiday in Dubrovnik'
22 December 2010Spring has been identified by an expert as one of the perfect times of the year in which to travel to Dubrovnik for a luxury holiday.
Alexander Horne, author of a city guide for the Scotsman, admits his preference would be either spring or autumn when planning a break in the resort.
These seasons feature fewer queues and warm weather with a refreshing sea breeze – something that is often missing during the midst of summer.
Mr Horne recommends heading to the Sponza Palace, which he says was originally completed in 1522 and is "one of the most spectacular examples of original renaissance and gothic architecture in Dubrovnik".
On the other hand, those who travel to the city in the hottest months will benefit from the presence of the Dubrovnik Summer Festival.
Among the celebrations in the ancient destination before then are the current Christmas Fair and the upcoming winter carnival.
