State-of-the-art cinema coming to Croatia
30 March 2010Film fans planning a future trip to Croatia may wish to wait until March 2011, when a new multiplex cinema is due to open.
The ancient city of Osijek in Croatia's north will be home to the facility, which will have nine screens and the ability to seat 1,500 people, the Croatian Times reports.
As well as enjoying the best movies the country has to offer, travellers to Croatia who visit the cinema will also have the opportunity to attend one of the 150 premieres expected to be held each year.
The CineStar complex will be fitted with state-of-the-art technology to allow the transmission of 3D films, the newspaper states.
Plans are already in progress for up to ten CineStar venues across Croatia.
In December, Ypsilon Production Company set up a website dedicated to Osijek, offering visitors tips and advice on what to see and do in the historic city.
