Summer holiday in Dubrovnik 'offers plenty to do'

A tourism expert has highlighted some of the things to look out for in Dubrovnik this summer.

Emma O'Boyle, UK media relations manager for TripAdvisor, says many of the holidaymakers who use the website to tell of their experiences recommend the "fabulous view" from the top of the city's limestone cliffs.

Overlooking the deep blue waters of the Adriatic Sea, the cliffs provide the perfect spot for a relaxing afternoon or scenic walk.

But Dubrovnik does not have to be calm and peaceful, with Ms O'Boyle suggesting the annual festival - that lasts for six weeks - should be "checked out".

Featuring live musical performances, exhibits, parades and authentic Croatian food, the event has been held every summer since 1950.

Those looking to liven up their Croatia holiday may wish to book during its run, which starts on July 10th.

Travellers to Croatia can take advantage of routes offered by easyJet, British Airways and bmibaby to reach Dubrovnik.
