Summer holidays in Croatia can be scheduled to include regatta
04 March 2010Tourists looking to book a Croatian villa for a summer break may wish to take into account the date of a sailing regatta set to take place in the country.
Rota Palagruzona will be held between June 20th and 25th features hordes of traditional vessels travelling between Komiza and Palagruza, the Croatian Times reports.
Following the regatta could be an ideal way to tour a number of Croatia's Adriatic islands.
Josko Bozanic, head of organising company Ars Halieutica, tells the newspaper the primary aim of the event is to raise awareness of the revitalisation of archipelago in Croatia.
The first Rota Palagruzona took place last year - and may have been enjoyed by scores of travellers staying in Croatian villas.
Popular holiday destination and Adriatic island Hvar was the location for a new year regatta, which featured more than 300 boats and was praised by a number of international sailing federations.
