Take your palate 'for a spin' with Croatian wine
16 January 2009For many years Croatia has been known for its stunning natural scenery and enthralling culture, but now one expert has revealed another reason to visit the country.
According to Vinography.com, the nation is home to a variety of excellent wines likely to satisfy even the most difficult-to-please connoisseur.
Included in its ample selection are reds such as the mulberry-scented Vinarija Dingac and whites like the "warm-felt" Kozlovic Malvasia, but to try them, it's likely you'll have to go there.
The website wrote: "There a lot of fabulous wines that don't make it out of the country, thanks to a relatively light demand in the marketplace.
"Some of them are as excellent as they are unique."
Much of Croatia's wine is produced in the Dalmatia region, which is home to a number of attractions for those visiting the country, including the historic city of Split, which has long been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
