Theatre festival could tempt drama fans to Croatia
16 October 2009Theatre fanatics may want to head for Croatia next month after it was announced a stage and performing arts event will occur at 34 venues across the country.
For one night only theatres will open their doors and allow the public to enjoy scores of plays free of charge, the Croatian Times reports.
The Theatre Night project aims to promote theatres as a place for social gatherings and meetings.
It also hopes to educate people about their local playhouse.
Attendees will be offered the unique opportunity to walk backstage and learn what goes on behind the scenes.
Project coordinator Leo Vukelic said his dream is to make Theatre Night an international event - currently the only other is in Madrid, Spain.
The Zagreb International Music Festival draws to a close this weekend after a week in which a number of music stars have performed in the capital.
