Timing of Croatia holiday 'is key to great deal'
18 May 2010People planning to travel to Croatia this summer are among those advised to consider the date of their break in order to get the best deal.
Nick Trend, editorial director at Simonseeks.com, says avoiding the school summer holiday period is the top tip for securing a cheaper holiday.
And families with children who are restricted to the six-week period should opt for the latter part of August if they are to save cash.
Mr Trend states: "Take a break towards the end of August - air fares are generally a bit cheaper than in early August and many European, family-oriented holidays cost significantly less too."
Such a time could be ideal for those hoping to soak up the late-summer sun on the Dalmatian coast, with cities such as Split enjoying an average temperature in the high 20s.
As well as the date, the choice of carrier can help to keep costs down, with budget airlines easyJet and Ryanair both flying to Croatia.
