Top-class Croatian hotel could be cheaper than expected
22 October 2009Travellers looking forward to a holiday in Croatia could benefit from the falling demand for luxury hotel rooms.
According to the European Hotel Managers Association (EHMA), four and five-star hotels will struggle to charge the rates they have done in previous years.
This may lead to a number of quality establishments slashing their prices.
And tourists in Croatia may be some of the first to take advantage of the low prices by checking in at one of the country's beautiful and luxurious hotels along its Adriatic coast.
Johanna Fragano, president of EHMA, said: "Luxury hotels are dropping their room rates because when the demand for hotel rooms drops they think they can increase their occupancy by charging less."
In some European cities it is believed that five-star rooms can be booked for as little as £100 per night.
Research by Saga Holidays earlier this week found that older travellers in particular enjoy luxury accommodation and often have the time and money to afford to use it.
