Tourists 'must move fast to catch Cirque de Soleil on Croatia holiday'

The popularity of an upcoming circus event in Croatia, which may be attended by scores of holidaymakers, has been illustrated by ticket sales figures.

According to the Croatian Times, more than 2,500 tickets have already been sold for the first ever Cirque de Soleil to take place in the country.

Fans of the entertainment are said to have snapped up the tickets within five days of them going on sale, despite the show not arriving in the country until November.

Capacity at the Zagreb venue where Cirque de Soleil will take place is limited to 5,000, meaning tourists who wish to travel to Croatia and catch the event may have to move quickly.

Indeed, the newspaper speculates it could soon be sold out, as demand for the family-friendly show reaches a peak.

Travellers from around Europe could decide to attend the circus as part of a Croatia holiday, which may also include visits to various spots on the Dalmatian coast.

Zagreb is the capital of Croatia and has a population of approximately one million.
