Tourists promised fireworks on Croatia holiday

People heading on holiday to Croatia next month will be in pole position to attend an international fireworks festival.

The tenth annual event will be held on the banks of the River Sava in Zagreb, reports the Croatian Times.

And the fun does not end with fireworks, as organisers have also arranged for authentic Croatian cuisine to be served at the festival, while a number of music acts are due to perform.

Although the event is a fun one for visitors, those setting off the fireworks treat it as a competition and those watching will have the chance to vote for their favourite, the newspaper explains.

Teams from China, Germany and Italy are among those set to perform their finest pyrotechnic show.

The fireworks display is one of several major activities to be taking place in Croatia this summer, after the recent Boat Show in Split Harbour and the popular Garden Festival.
