Tourists set to benefit from new Dubrovnik transport
11 June 2010The cable car offering travellers to Croatia a route to a mountain top view of Dubrovnik will open on July 10th.
Due to coincide with the Dubrovnik Summer Games, the unveiling of the transport link is likely to be attended by prime minister Jadranka Kosor, reports the Croatian Times.
It will be the first time in 19 years that Dubrovnik has boasted a link between the city itself and the top of neighbouring Mount Srdj, via a cliff top route.
"The four-minute ride leading to a spot with a spectacular view of the city's historic centre will cost 10 (£8.20)," the newspaper reveals.
People staying in accommodation in Dubrovnik this summer may find the cable car is the ideal way to take a look at the area, including the Adriatic Sea, from a different angle.
Dubrovnik can be reached via flights from a variety of UK airports with services offered by the likes of British Airways and easyJet.
