Tourists set to enjoy St Patrick's Day celebrations in Croatia

Tourists planning to get an alternative taste of St Patrick's Day should head to Croatia, where the capital city will be celebrating with an Irish week.

Between March 11th and 17th, Zagreb will play host to a string of Irish-themed events and performances, the Croatian Times explains.

Kicking off with a traditional Irish dance show and also featuring an open-air festival, the week may be ideal for anybody planning to take their celebrations overseas.

Dance group Irish Maiden will show off their skills in the historic Croatian city during the event, the newspaper reports.

Those taking a Croatian holiday will be able to enjoy the hits of Irish group Neck, as well as several native bands, such as Jolly Roggers and The Pint.

When in Zagreb it may be worth purchasing a Zagreb Card, which entitles travellers to Croatia to unlimited use of public transport and discounts at some of the city's top restaurants and attractions.
