Train journeys may be relaxing option on Croatia holiday
22 June 2010Travellers heading to Croatia this summer could take the advice of one expert and explore the country by rail.
Richard Adams, marketing manager at Great Rail Journeys, says taking the train can add a new dimension to a holiday.
Opting for the transport means the journey becomes part of the experience, rather than simply a means of getting from one place to another, he suggests.
"With carefully chosen timings, routes and trains there is nothing more civilised than travelling to your holiday destination, or touring around, by rail," he explains.
The landscape of Croatia may also lend itself handily to exploration by train, with a diverse mix of beautiful coastline and green countryside to be enjoyed through the window.
It is not only train that could enjoy a surge in popularity in 2010 though, with the Passenger Shipping Association recently revealing the number of people taking a cruise during the year is expected to rise by seven per cent compared with the previous 12 months.
