Travel to Croatia for popular museum's permanent home
07 October 2010A roving museum that has recently finished a global sell-out tour is to be permanently based in Zagreb, where travellers to Croatia will be able to visit it.
The Museum of Broken Relationships is dedicated to couples who have gone their separate ways, explains the Croatian Times.
Its exhibits are donated by people who have seen their romantic affairs go wrong, such as a coffee machine handed to the museum by a woman who believed her ex-partner preferred the drink to her.
Other items include a Vespa that one person had planned to travel on with their other half.
Olinka Vistica, who had the idea of the museum with her old flame Drazen Grubisic, tells the newspaper: "The exhibition comes from a sincere, universal experience and helped us in our break-up process. I think the exhibits have a therapeutic effect for anyone else going through such emotional turmoil."
Recent figures reported by Balkans.com showed more people are taking a holiday in the Croatian capital, with Zagreb Airport experiencing a 4.8 per cent surge in visitors during August compared with the same month in 2009.
