Travel to Dubrovnik for some of Europe's finest wine
23 November 2010Travellers to Dubrovnik will soon be visiting what is officially one of Europe's top wine-producing destinations.
Over the weekend, Dubrovnik-Neretva County welcomed a number of officials relating to its potential addition to the wine map of Europe, the Croatian Times reports Slobodna Dalmacija as stating.
The experts, working on behalf of the Assembly of European Wine-Producing Regions, were shown some of the greatest vineyards in southern Croatia and offered an exhibition of local traditions when it comes to making the alcoholic beverage.
Dubrovnik-Neretva has been a member of the assembly for almost 18 months, perhaps underlining its credentials as a top place to enjoy wine.
Those who take a holiday in Dubrovnik can expect to taste local produce when opting for wine with a meal or in a bar.
People wishing to try it out for themselves may wish to book a trip to the area next May, when the Dubrovnik International Wine and Jazz Festival is due to take place.
