Travel to Dubrovnik in new year for art festival

Those with a passion for art may find all they dream of in a holiday should they decide to travel to Dubrovnik during the first month of 2011.

The ancient city's tourist board notes an exhibition entitled Foreigners – Painters of Dubrovnik is due to open its doors on January 7th and will run through until the last day of the month.

Featuring scores of depictions, the display could be of particular interest to those who combine a love of art with a fondness for the resort.

It is due to be hosted at the Artur Gallery, perhaps giving visitors the chance to browse other sets of work while they are there.

Dubrovnik has a strong tradition in the art scene and offers holidaymakers numerous galleries to look around.

The historic destination, located in the south of Croatia, was recently praised by Alexander Horne, writing for the Scotsman, who said it has everything a traveller could wish for.
