Travel to Dubrovnik this winter for Festivity of St Blaise

One of the highlights for those seeking winter sun on holiday in Dubrovnik over the coming months is likely to be the Festivity of St Blaise.

As the patron saint of the historic city, St Blaise holds a special place in the hearts of locals and the celebrations are a reflection of this.

Beginning on Candlemass Day, the festival features a procession, concerts, presentations and exhibitions.

There is also a series of theatre performances dedicated to the saint and a number of church services to look forward to.

Tourists staying in accommodation in Dubrovnik can also learn more about St Blaise by visiting statues of the figurehead on the city's ancient walls and gates.

With a total walking time of just over an hour, the walls that surround the Old Town are already a strong favourite with holidaymakers.

Other popular attractions in Dubrovnik include the cable car running from the city centre to the peak of neighbouring Mount Srd, from where visitors can enjoy picturesque views across the Adriatic Sea.
