Travellers to Croatia "enjoy good sense of value for money"

Visitors to Croatia this year will feel like they are getting good value for money, according to one expert.

Meri Matesic, director at the Croatia National Tourist Office, says the value of the kuna will tempt people to the Adriatic coast, in the same was as tourists are lured to "so-called dollar destinations".

"Croatia is still more affordable than other European destinations - food and beverage, accommodation, sightseeing et cetera - and so visitors enjoy a good sense of value for money," she states.

One investment that may be especially worthwhile when visiting the country is a stay in a Croatian villa, with top-quality accommodation more reasonably priced to the British tourist than similar properties in the eurozone.

When it comes to spending money, instead of worrying about the near-parity of the pound with the euro, travellers to Croatia can expect about eight kunas for a pound.

Ms Matesic recently suggested Croatia is an "increasingly popular" destinations for UK tourists.
