Travellers to Croatia set to enjoy 61km run

Fans of athletics may wish to head to Croatia this weekend for a run which links two ancient cathedrals.

The Croatia National Tourist Board is inviting people to book a Croatia holiday and head to the capital, Zagreb, this Sunday (March 21st) for the event.

Competitors will start at Zagreb Cathedral before undertaking a challenging 61 km route.

However, those who would prefer to settle in a Croatian villa in the countryside for the duration of their stay could pick up the race as it moves towards its rural finale.

The finish line will be set up outside Cazma Cathedral, east of Zagreb.

Due to the distance of the run, the board advises that people who travel to Croatia to spectate will be given an "extraordinary opportunity to witness the achievements of top athletes".

Tourists in Croatia over the coming week will also have the chance to witness Bosnian pop star Dino Merlin perform, after the Croatian Times explained he will be singing at Split's Spaladium Arena this Thursday (March 18th).
