Travellers to Dubrovnik 'more likely to splash out on luxury'

Interesting details about those travelling to Dubrovnik have emerged, with British Airways revealing the Croatian city is one in which many people choose to upgrade their flights.

Apart from Venice, where 684 people paid extra for added comfort on board their plane last year, Dubrovnik is one of the places most likely to see passengers splash out, reports the Times.

Many may be teaming a trip in first class with a stay in a luxury Croatian villa.

The results are a consequence of British Airways launching the Upsell programme in 2006, the newspaper explains.

Dubrovnik is one of Europe's most popular holiday destinations, with its mix of sea, sun and rich history arguably providing something for everyone.

In addition, it is becoming increasingly popular with business travellers, with a number of conferences taking place in the city in recent times.

As well as British Airways, UK tourists can use budget airlines such as easyJet, Ryanair and flybe to reach their Croatia holiday.
