Vinodolska region offers luxury Croatian holiday

Tourists looking for a luxury holiday may want to book a Croatian villa in the Vinodolska region, which has been labelled a high-class destination by one expert.

The unspoilt countryside, panoramic views of the Adriatic Sea and picturesque villages of the area in western Croatia were first identified by people in the nearby city of Crikvenica, reports the Croatian Times.

Other domestic and foreign tourists, as well as businessmen, then began to flock to Vinodolska as its beauty became more apparent.

Ivan Murn, of real estate agency My Home, told the newspaper that Vinodolska is popular with travellers looking to avoid the chaos of densely-populated cities.

According to the property boss, many people who travel to Croatia to visit the region end up buying a second home as it is so beautiful.

The Croatian National Tourist Office last week stated that visiting the country's shoreline would give travellers a "diverse Mediterranean experience" and good value for money.
