Visit Buza Gate 'for perfect start to holiday in Dubrovnik'
10 December 2010A visit to the famous Buza Gate in the heart of the city has been described as the perfect start to a holiday in Dubrovnik.
The resort's official tourism body has compiled a route holidaymakers may wish to follow when taking a tour of the destination, in order to enjoy all its top sights and most historic monuments.
It nominates the gate as the ideal beginning to the journey, perhaps because it offers an immediate insight into the past of the fascinating city.
The structure was opened in the famous walls that surround Dubrovnik's Old Town more than 100 years ago.
It can be found in Boskovic Street, named so after the legendary Croatian scientist, physicist, poet and astronomer Ruder Boskovic.
After visiting Buza Gate and experiencing the local area, tourists could opt to follow either the tourist board's advised route or simply the path of the city walls, which take approximately an hour to circumnavigate.
